Obituary for Estella Pettway

ESTELLA MAE MARTIN was born October 23,1951in Sanford, Alabama. Estelle attended Key High School in Alabama. Later in 1966, Estella metWilliam Pettway and gave birth to herfirst child, Claritha Pettway, her only daughter. Estella and William were married in 1968, and to this union four sons were born: William Jr., Steven, Kelvin and Roderick. Estella, William and the children were members of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Rochester, New York.

She was employed many years as a housekeeper where she met a long time friend, Ms. Blanche, and as the industry grew, she gained a supervisory position at the Americana' Here, she met another friend, Ms. Lacey. She was also employed at the Comfort lnn and Marriott Courtyard, Estella enjoyed having lots of fun with family and friends' One of her favorite trips she looked forward to taking each year was to Cincinnati, Ohio, to enjoy the Jazz Fest.

Estella relocated to Suitland, Maryland in 2A07, where she lived until she became ill. She then returned to Rochester to be closer to her family. She was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Claritha Pettway and grandson, Anthony Allen Pettway,

Estella is predeceased by: her mother, Neal Fuller; sisters, Mary Elizabeth (Clarence) Pettway lll and Rosalee Fuller; brothers: Lorenzo Crayton and J,C. (Zebedee) Ellis. She departed this life February g, 2019, leaving to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Deacon William Pettway Sr.; 4 sons: William Jr., Steve, Kelvin and Roderick Pettway; 1 daughter, Claritha Pettway, all of Rochester, NY; 1 sister, Sallie Mae Fuller of AL; 1 brother, Bride (Barbara Jean) Martin of Rochester, NY; 33 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; special nieces, Elder Joyce Pettway, Cynthia Gayden and Deanna Pettway. She is also cherished by other nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives, church family and friends,
