Obituary for Anita Kirton

The sun rose on Anita Louise (Broadnax) Kirton on November 17, 1937, to the late James Broadnax and
Eleanor Davis. The sun set on October 8, 2020.

Anita married the late Patrick Kirton Sr, who affectionately called her “Peaches”
On July 13, 1963, and to this union they had 6 children. Anita was baptized and turned her life over to
Christ on April 3, 1977, at the Reynolds Street Church of Christ.
Anita will be remembered by her work for HCR as a Nursing Assistant. She later became a stay at home
wife and mother. Anita was a kind sweet beautiful soul, who took great joy in going to church. She also
enjoyed watching Young and the Restless and putting puzzles together. She especially loved and
enjoyed playing Uno, Trouble and checkers with her husband, and spending time with her children and
grandchildren.

Anita spent her last 14 years in Hill Haven, where she will be fondly remembered for her beautiful spirit,
smile and infectious laugh. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
Anita is predeceased by her husband, Patrick Kirton Sr, son Patrick Kirton Jr, 2 brothers Joseph and
James Broadnax, 2 sisters Saundra Broadnax and Faatimah Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory;
her children: Anita Young, Theresa (Terri), David, Richard (Rick) and Patricia (Patty) Kirton, 1 sister
Shahaamah Wadood and 1 brother Don Bahtees, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, several
nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives, friends and church family.
