Obituary for Clara Mae Pugh

MRS. CLARA MAE PUGH was born August 17, 1936 in Pine Hill, Alabama, the eldest of 18 children born to the late Henry and Martha Hood. She relocated to Rochester, New York with her family in 1967.

Clara worked at the Brightonian Nursing Home for 25 years. She had a number of interests and activities she enjoyed. They included growing plants, thanks to her green thumb. She loved her
plants! Music and dancing were a big part of her life. She especially enjoyed listening to the Blues. A family-oriented individual, she was always ready to go fishing or go to basketball and football games with her sons. She loved cooking and doing anything that allowed her to spend time with her family and grandchildren.

She departed this life November 13, 2020, predeceased by: her parents, Henry and Martha Hood; five brothers: Jerry Lee Hood, Charlie Hood, Jimmy Hood, Henrey Hood and Micheal Dames Jr.; three sisters: Eltha Hood, Paralee Hood and Littlebit Hood. Clara leaves to cherish her memory: four sons: Authar, Monette, John and Bobby Pugh; three daughters: Clara, Annie and Daisy; ten grandchildren: Monette Pugh Jr., Monea Pugh, Keauna Pugh, Sierra Pugh, Jason, Brandon, Chareve, Chazz, Tyrell, and NiJay,
all of Rochester, New York; three nephews: Timothy, Willie and Tyrone Hood, all of Rochester, New York; sixteen greatgrandchildren; three brothers: Sam Hood of New Jersey, Willie Hood of Alabama and Cammy; five sisters: Helen, Martha, Dora, Dot of New York and Sattie of Pennsylvania. three nephews: Timothy, Willie and Tyrone Hood of Rochester, New York; four nieces in Detroit and four in Alabama. She also leaves a host of friends, including a very dear friend, Mattie Turner.
